Description

2 × 40 FT + 2 × 40 FT Container Home (Ground + Upper Floor with Rear Offset Balcony) — Full Description

Project Overview

This contemporary container home is developed using two 40-foot shipping containers placed side-by-side at the ground level, with two additional 40-foot containers positioned above and offset toward the rear. The rear offset creates a spacious balcony or terrace at the upper floor, enhancing outdoor living and architectural depth.

  • Number of containers: 4
  • Container size: 40 FT each
  • Total built-up area: ≈ 120 m² (≈ 1,290 sq.ft.)
  • Configuration: 2 containers at Ground Floor + 2 containers at Upper Floor (rear offset)
  • Use: Ideal for urban homes, luxury villas, premium rentals, or serviced residences

The design focuses on privacy, daylight, and outdoor connectivity, with the rear offset balcony acting as a key lifestyle feature.

Overall Dimensions (Per Container)

Length 40 ft (≈ 12.2 m)
Width 8 ft (≈ 2.4 m)
Internal Height 8 – 8.5 ft (after insulation & ceiling)
Area per container ≈ 30 m²

Design Concept – Rear Offset Balcony

The upper floor containers are shifted backward relative to the ground floor footprint. This creates a usable rear-facing balcony or terrace, improving outdoor usability while maintaining clean front elevations and enhanced privacy.
